The Championship Course

Championship Links Golf at Murcar Links Golf Club

In 1909, Archie Simpson, the Professional and Keeper of the Green at Murcar Links’ neighbouring course, Royal Aberdeen, gave advice on the original layout on a stretch of marvellously rugged coast running north from Aberdeen. The celebrated golf course designer James Braid advised on alterations and refinements to the Murcar Championship course and also laid out the club’s nine-hole Strabathie course in the 1930s. Play is essentially over the same historic layout today.
